The State of Kerala has led the country in many respects, significantly in the field of literacy and education. Equally so, it has been a pioneer in the taking ICT to the masses through several Government sponsored and backed e-Governance projects.
In this backdrop, it was only a matter of time that the Government instituted an Award to accredit outstanding e-governance initiatives in the State of Kerala. To recognise, motivate and promote the departments to deliver more citizens centric e-governance services, the State Government has instituted the State eGovernance Awards, which are awarded annually and the Job of Inviting nomination, selection of nominations, Jury formation & Meeting, organising the award ceremony and other formalities etc. have been entrusted to Institute of Management in Government (IMG) by Government. IT secretary and KSITM director are among jury members. KSITM will provide the financial and technical support to IMG for the smooth functioning of this State eGovernance Awards.
Kerala State eGovernance Awards 2016-17 organized by IMG in coordination with KSITM at Padma Hall,IMG on 03/01/2019. Honourable Chief Secretary Shri. Tom Jose IAS distributed the awards to the winners. IT Secretary Shri. Sivasankar IAS, KSITM Director Dr. S. Chithra IAS, IMG Director, Shri. Jayakumar IAS were present during the occasion.
