'A single mail server for all Government Communication'
A common email address format for all Government employees ensures easier access to the Government of Kerala and enables employees to manage their own email account identity and passwords more effectively.
In 2009, Government of Kerala launched 'Email for all Government Employees' project envisaged as an e-mail communication platform (@Gov.in) for all employees for a faster and better communication. This project aims to transform the entire Government communication to another competent level. Each mail account has add-on features like calendar, address, file manager etc.
In Essence
- Promises increased protection against cyber threats and privacy breaches.
- A common system will improve communication and reduce duplication.
- An employee’s email address will remain the same for their entire Government career and will not need to change if they move from one organization to another.
- As of now, 75730 email accounts has been created for various state government employees.
