'Backbone network for a department'
To ensure more consistency in the inter-departmental connectivity within the State, Government of Kerala set up Department WAN with KSWAN as the underlying principle. It has been designed to establish a reliable horizontal and vertical communication passage. Departments not only have more efficient/transparent delivery mechanisms, but also have updated information at all levels for monitoring, and more importantly for planning. It improves both Government-to-Government interactions and Government to citizen interactions.
