The survivors of the devastating avalanches in Wayanad not only lost their loved ones but also important documents that could be crucial for rebuilding their lives in the near future. Recognizing this, the state government has implemented a Certificate Reclamation and Retrieval procedure in collaboration with various organizations. The documents are being made available on the Digi Locker portal to ensure their safety for future use. An integrated platform is being used to facilitate quick retrieval of documents. On the first day, 636 essential service documents were distributed to 265 people. For those outside the camps, similar certificate recovery camps may be organized. Essential documents like ration cards, Aadhaar cards, and birth certificates are being distributed to those in need, with provisional certificates being issued when original documents are unavailable.
